Charlene Abinante is a ceramicist who handcrafts pottery out of her studio in Chico, California.
Charlene grew up in Sutter, California. As a child, she would spend time at a local ceramic shop, S&S Trading Post, painting small ceramic animals. Charlene graduated from Sutter Union High School and moved to Chico to attend college. She took a beginning ceramics course in the fall of 2005 and knew she had to explore this medium further.
She enrolled in the intermediate/wheel throwing course for the spring semester. In that semester she knew she wanted to pursue a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) degree in art studio with an emphasis in ceramics. She graduated from Chico State in May of 2010 and worked to acquire the equipment needed to create from home.
Charlene's website is catalog of her time at Chico State and her current pursuits. Her artwork portfolio features her two solo exhibitions (including her BFA exhibition), and her work as a student: ceramic sculpture, pottery, glass, and printmaking.
